Meet Tania Gorry
Tania is a social scientist, counsellor, psychosocial recovery coach, capacity-building trainer and experienced human-services practitioner. Her career spans more than two decades across child protection, community services, disability, mental health, complex case management, program management and community development.
Her approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in dignity, consent, choice and practical action. Support may draw on strengths-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed and person-centred approaches, adapted to the person rather than delivered as a rigid formula.

Therapeutic approaches that may inform the work
Support is tailored to the person, their goals and the agreed service. Depending on fit and scope, Tania may draw on the following approaches and skills rather than applying one rigid model:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-informed
Explores connections between thoughts, feelings and actions, and supports the person to test unhelpful patterns and practise more workable responses.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy-informed
Draws on practical skills associated with mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. This does not represent a comprehensive DBT program.
Person-centred
Centres empathy, respect, collaboration and acceptance, recognising the person as the primary authority on their own life and experience.
Mindfulness-based
Offers choice-led practices for noticing thoughts, emotions and present-moment experience. Mindfulness may be adapted or avoided when stillness or body awareness feels unsafe or unhelpful.
Solution-focused
Clarifies the person’s preferred future, strengths, exceptions and next practical steps. The person brings knowledge of their own life; the practitioner helps create the conditions for insight, possibility and choice to become clearer.
Body-aware and somatic-informed
May use optional attention to sensation, posture, movement, breath and grounding to support awareness and regulation. These practices do not claim to physically “release stored trauma” or replace evidence-informed trauma treatment.
Values in action
Holistic practice, human rights, social justice, respect, collaboration and sustainability guide how Whole Warrior Solutions works. The practice aims to reduce waste through a largely digital office, responsible purchasing and virtual delivery where it improves access.
Our vision: Towards Ending Human Trafficking. This long-term human-rights vision informs our commitment to dignity, safety, prevention and social justice; it is not a claim that counselling alone can end exploitation.
Whole Warrior Solutions acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work, including Darkinjung Country. We pay respect to Elders past and present, and recognise the continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to land, waters, culture and community.
